Powerful Prayer Points for Prayer Meetings – 12 Free Printable Themes

Prayer meetings can be amazing times with fellow believers to lift up our prayer requests to God. Whether it’s a traditional Wednesday night prayer meeting, a small group gathering, or any other gathering of Christians to pray, it is such a privilege to pray with other believers.

If you think your group would benefit from the structure of having a theme and prayer points to pray through, then these prayer points for prayer meetings are for you! We’re featuring 12 prayer themes, one for each month of the year.

Some prayer themes are seasonal, but most prayer themes are not. This means that if you like a prayer theme listed in October, you can use it for January.

Each prayer point has Bible verses that fit with the prayer theme for the month. Some are intercessory prayer points, while others are more personal to the one praying for them.

Using prayer themes and prayer points for prayer meetings can be helpful for prayer time in group settings. Some may criticize it as not being open to the power of the Holy Spirit. Of course, we should always be seeking God’s agenda for everything we do!

But when only praying through personal prayer requests, we sometimes get our mind solely on our own agenda. Prayer themes can be helpful by reminding us to intercede for others’ specific needs with powerful prayer points.

Prayer points for prayer meetings can also be a way for group members who might be nervous to have something ready to pray for. The structure of a prayer theme can help when there is only a short time of prayer available.

Prayer themes are also a great way to incorporate God’s Word into prayer time. Ask for God’s guidance in prayer as you decide how you might use this prayer resource for your prayer group.

This prayer resource of prayer points for prayer meetings is for personal or ministry use by Christian organizations only. Please don’t share the files, but send the person a link to this article instead. Don’t sell the digital files, or print the file to be sold.

We’ve also included monthly prayers for your prayer meetings if you need some inspiration for a short opening prayer for prayer meetings.

We also are highlighting a special resource if you need more printables of prayer points for prayer meetings.

When we pray together, we are strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit and we are reminded that we are not alone.

Here are some prayer points for prayer meetings that can be helpful as you plan ahead for your next prayer gathering:

  • Pray for God’s presence. Ask God to come and fill your prayer meeting with His love, peace, and joy.

  • Pray for the members of your church. Ask God to bless them with His love, peace, and joy.
  • Pray for those who are sick or hurting. Ask God to heal them and comfort them.
  • Pray for those who are lost or struggling. Ask God to open their hearts to the truth of His love.

I am praying this for those who will find this article and need encouragement as they get ready for leading prayer. Whether you are a pastor, one of the church leaders, a volunteer, or the person who has been selected to lead prayer this week, I pray God’s blessings and peace upon you as you prepare for this time of prayer.

May you experience the joy of praying together and the power of God’s Spirit working in your midst.

Dear God,

We are so thankful that we can come to You in corporate prayer, during the times of blessings, as well as the difficult times. Thank You for hearing our prayers!

As we prepare to lead prayer in a church service, prayer gatherings, small groups, or our own families, we pray that You would be the one to prepare our hearts. O Lord, strengthen our personal prayer life, and help us to serve by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May we fall more in love with the Word of God each day. May we be a good witness for You, whether inside or outside of the church building.

Prepare the hearts of those who will be in these prayer sessions, and help them to see the power of prayer as You change hearts and answer prayers. Bring them into a closer relationship with You!

In the name of Jesus we pray this, Amen.
